[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]A Home Equity Conversion Mortgage (HECM) or \u201cReverse Mortgage\u201d allows eligible homeowners over the age of 62 to convert equity in their homes into a stream of income or a line of credit. In order to apply for a HECM all homeowners must first meet with a counselor to discuss the eligibility requirements, financial implications, and payment options of a HECM as well as alternative financing options. We only serve HECM clients in DC, Maryland and Virginia. HECM counseling is FREE at HCS. To arrange a virtual or telephone counseling session call 202-667-7706.<\/p>\n
