HCS continues to provide services; however, in response to directives from local and federal health officials all face-to-face interactions between HCS staff and the public have been cancelled. HCS staff continue to serve the community with the aid of technology.
In-person meetings: All in-person meetings are cancelled. We are offer meetings by telephone where appropriate. If you had a meeting scheduled, we will contact you to either reschedule or arrange for other service formats.
Workshops & Clinics: Please check our website frequently as our workshops and clinics are now offered as webinars during the closure. Pre-registration is required.
Document Collection: If you were asked to provide any documentation to support your services or your application, please submit these documents by email, by fax or by postal mail. We are not available to accept documents at our offices during the closure.
Housing Emergencies: If you have a housing emergency, please call our intake line at 202-667-7006 or reach out to your HCS staff contact for assistance. You may also send an email to email@example.com . We are expecting full phone and email coverage during business hours.
As we expect many staff will be working remotely, we will try our best to respond quickly.
What you can do: In accordance with the guidance issued by the CDC, you should take the following steps to help prevent the spread of respiratory diseases like COVID-19:
• Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
• Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
• Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
• Frequently clean and disinfect touched objects and surfaces.
• Stay home when you are sick, except to get medical care.
• Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
